‘Knit and Natter’ is a project run by the Mothers Union.  There are two groups -  one on the last Monday of the month when MU members meet at Guild House. This is a residential home for the elderly next door to our church.  Here, we are joined by some 15-20 lady residents who come along from 10.30am (coffee time) until mid-day to knit and chat. The other group is on the second Tuesday in month at Horton House 2.00 - 3.30pm

For those who find patterns a bit hard going and would much prefer to ‘natter’ then knitting squares is the easy option. The squares are made up into blankets and together with the other warm winter wear we produce, they are delivered to the local contact of Sunrise International.  A charity which sends warm knitted clothing to families in Eastern European countries.

Knitted winter wear is also delivered to The Vaughan Centre in Gloucester which helps the homeless in our city.

Both residents and MU members alike enjoy the time spent together. The residents enjoy chatting to new faces and MU members feel that their presence, in a small way, brings in the light of God’s love by just listening and responding in a caring way.

STOP PRESS -Knit and Natter is spreading it's knitting needles! We will be knitting and nattering at Horton Road Residential Home, just inside Horton Road. For more detail ring Chris on 384035.
