Contemplative Prayer Group meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month at 8.00 pm.
Contemplative prayer has been described as “The opening of the heart and mind...our whole being... to God, the Ultimate Mystery, beyond thoughts and words ..........”
St. Catharine’s Contemplative Prayer group meets fortnightly at 8.00 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month during school term times. We have hot drinks at 9.00, and are usually home by 10.00 pm! We share readings, music, poetry and a range of creative visual stimuli in exploring our personal relationship with God. The leader for each work uses these as a stepping stone to help lead the group into periods of silence. These become an opportunity for reflection, stillness, and openness to God.
Sometimes challenging, often illuminating, always welcoming, Contemplative Prayer Group exists to provide an oasis of centeredness in our busy lives. Several group members have from time to time described the sessions as being a personal “lifeline”. New members are always welcome. Please join us for a one-off “taster session” if you would like to see what we do.
More details can be found in church.
