Welcome to ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll’, St Catharine’s Sunday morning group for Primary school aged children. Here is some background information to help you enjoy your time with us.
We meet from 11.15am to the end of the 11.15 service (normally around 12.20pm) on Sunday mornings during school term time. ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll’ meet at 11.10 in the Church Hall. We explore our theme for the day through a variety of different activities including craft, drama and games. There will normally be a small snack and an opportunity to share news. The overall emphasis of the group is to explore and develop our faith through fun and fellowship! At around 12.10pm we will come over to church and rejoin the main congregation for the closing worship.
On the first Sunday of the month, the routine is different as there is an ‘All-Age Service’ so we remain in church for the whole service. The ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll’ Programme will let you know the dates when these services happen, or someone will always be available to direct the children to where they should be!
We do not meet formally as a group during the school holidays; however there will always be a selection of games and activities for children to do in church during these times. You will find them in the boxes in the family area by the font on the north side of the church. (We would be very grateful if parents / guardians could supervise the children’s use of these resources and ensure that they are tidied away afterwards). Please do not allow primary aged children to play unsupervised during services in the ‘Galilee’ (reception) area, access to the car park is just too tempting!!!!
You should have been given a registration form with this leaflet - we would be grateful if you could complete one for each of your children and return it to us as soon as possible, so that we have all the relevant information to ensure the safe running of our group.
We always welcome feedback about ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll’ and any suggestions of games and activities we could use in future sessions are always gratefully received - so please let us know your bright ideas or tell us about the things you really want the opportunity to do!
It is really important that the children enjoy the time they spend with us.
Best wishes to you all,
‘Rock ‘n’ Roll’ crew!
