Giving


Psalms 24:1 says, "The earth is the Lord's and all that is in it, the world, and those who live in it." We believe that God is the ultimate owner of all things - the earth, ourselves, and 'our' possessions. St Catharine's ministry is enabled and sustained by the generosity of members with their time, skills and money. We encourage everyone to count their blessings and then consider how much of themselves they can give to further God's purposes. It is your personal choice.

Responding to cost-of-living changes

Costs of food, fuel and heating have increased significantly, please prioritise these above financial giving to the church. It is fine to reduce or stop your giving at this time. You may also need financial support, in which case please speak confidentially to any of the core team at St Catharine's (Jo and Luke as clergy, Su in the office, or Rachel and Bruce as churchwardens)

If you can give more at this time to fund the ministry of the church, and to help support those in need within the church and our local community, please do pray about what God may be calling you to give. Please consider regular monthly giving via the Parish Giving Scheme which enables you to set up a direct debit through your bank, and automatically claims and returns gift aid to the church every month. Our code is GLCA, and details can be found on this website: www.parishgivingscheme.org.uk. If you already give this way, please contact the scheme about increasing your regular gift or speak to David or Ed as treasurers.

Alternatively, you can give using contactless giving at the giving station on the way out of church, by cash donation into the wooden bowl or directly to the St. Catharine's bank account (details from David and Ed our treasuers).

At this time please also consider giving your time, skills and prayer into supporting our children and young people, helping to open church to support our wider community, and being involved with practical projects in and around our church building. More info available from Su in the office.
