What happens during a Sunday service?
Liturgy.
One of the distinguishing features of anglican worship is liturgy, which is often helpful to understand as the structure to our service and the words we say together. During our service there will be some words on the screens, the congregation join in with the parts in yellow. It’s a way of worshipping as a collective.
Music.
One of the things you’ll notice if you come along to one of our Sunday services is that we love music, and we think singing is a beautiful way of all praising God together.
Bible readings.
We believe God speaks to us through the words of the Bible.
Sermon.
As a way of learning together and hearing the word of God be explained to us, we always have a sermon during our service. This is often delivered by one of the clergy team or one of our wonderful licensed readers.
Prayers.
We have a space in our service where we have time to pray for the world and our community.
Communion.
Each Sunday we break bread and share wine as a way of partaking in the holy sacrament of communion. Just as Jesus instructed his disciples to do, and as the Church has continued to do throughout history, we join together to remember Christ’s saving death and resurrection.
